Caesar's Legion, built on the conquest of 86 tribes, expanded in all directions out of Arizona to conquer all that lay before them. As they pushed east across Colorado under the leadership of Cruentis Legate, they encountered an enemy unlike any they before: The Midwest Brotherhood. This new enemy was well equipped and well trained -- but arrogant, thinking that only a few of their warriors were necessary to stop advance of the Legion.

Cruentus Legate pursued an intentionally bloody war with the Brotherhood in an attempt to cow the populace and demoralize the Brotherhood, and it was brutally effective. The Brotherhood was on the loosing end of the war until the majority of his troops were called to fight on the western front, leaving the Brotherhood broken, but alive.

Now, nearly ten years later, Cruentus has returned to finish the fight, but his own legion has been weakened by the fight in the west. He pushes east, hoping to goad his rivals in the Brotherhood out of hiding and to slaughter.
